The Top 10 Books To Read To Put You In The Right Mindset To Start Your Online Business

Starting an online business and becoming an entrepreneur has a lot to do with skills but mostly with having the right mindset.

In the article below I want to share with you my top 10 books that tremendously shaped my journey and put me on the right track:

1 –          Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki

This book is foundational going through the mindset differences of an entrepreneur versus an employee. It shifts our beliefs about money and explains how increasing financial intelligence, building wealth through investing in assets, real estate investing, starting, and owning businesses can improve one’s business and financial aptitude.

2 –          Think & Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill

This book, written is 1937, is an absolute classic.  It could be the origin of all personal development and self-improvement books. After interviewing 100s of successful entrepreneurs back then, Hill drew some 16 “laws” to be applied to achieve success.

3 –          The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace Wattles

This book is a great add-on to the previous one as it goes over the concept of manifestation: how bringing creative thinking and a clear vision into your business can dictate your success.

4 –          4-Hour work week, by Timothee Ferris

This book will open your eyes to the possibilities open to everyone with online businesses. I build my own company Your Best Digital Life in line with how Tim Ferris talks about building businesses in the 4-hour work week. The whole principle is that you don’t need to be geographically tight, you don’t need to be working for other people, you don’t need to invest a huge amount of capital, you don’t need to be a millionaire to live an incredible lifestyle..it’s possible to have a digital business and generate income and be geographically, financially and time free.

5 –          The 5 AM Club: Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life, by Robin Sharma

Legendary leadership and elite performance expert Robin Sharma, author of the #1 Bestselling author of The Monk who sold his Ferrari, introduced The 5 AM Club concept, based on a revolutionary morning routine that has helped his clients maximize their productivity, activate their best health and bulletproof their serenity in this age of overwhelming complexity. This book will help you kick start your day every day and achieve to the best of your capabilities in your entrepreneurial journey.

6 –          DRIVE, by Daniel Pink

This book argues that human motivation is largely intrinsic and that the aspects of this motivation can be divided into autonomy, mastery, and purpose. This book will help you implement the right motivators to thrive in your entrepreneurial journey.

7 –          Black Box Thinking, by Matthew Syed

The whole purpose of this book is to embrace failure. As goes the saying, failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of success. The whole concept of embracing failure and owning our mistakes is the incredible learning curve we get from it. Instead of entering the victim/blame mentality, the book encourages us to take full responsibility to fast track towards success. Taking responsibility enables us to take back the power to make a change in our life.

8 –          Unshakable, by Tony Robbins

This book is the concise version of MONEY, Master the Game book.  It is about diving into the Mindset behind becoming financially free through investment strategies, business sense.. Tony Robbin is definitely a key mentor for the past decades in regard to Money mindset.

9 –          The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen R. Covey

To push your journey further, this book will inspire you to implement habits to become the leader any entrepreneur aspires to be. It presents an approach to being effective in attaining goals by aligning oneself to what he calls “true north” principles based on a character ethic that he presents as universal and timeless. A major cornerstone of this book is about value and bring value to people and how it is the right mindset to attract wealth in your life, rather than focusing on money.

10 –          Start with Why, by Simon Sinek

Sinek argues that the best way to influence human behavior is inspiration. Hence it explains how any entrepreneur should start with the why (aka his values) he does what he does rather than what and how he does it. Because people connect with values. He explains how Apple is the perfect example of this.
